How do I know if the insured sum covers the loss?
By making a thorough list of all the valuables in your residence, then determine the value of each item. Add up all the values, and the resulting total will be the amount for which you should have insured your property.
If I make improvements to my residence, would they be covered under the initial policy?
No. You must update your insured sum and inform ASSA of the improvements made to your home in order for them to be included in your policy coverage.
How is the value of my residence determined?
A minimum of 90% of the home’s replacement value is determined without considering the value of the land.
In case you do not have invoices for what is inside the residence, how would it be paid?
You must submit a quote for the same or similar item to the one that has been lost. An estimated depreciation may be applied to this amount, depending on the time and use of the asset.
How does the ambulance service work for this policy and what does it cover?
In case of a medical emergency or an accident inside your residence, call 2278-2772 and inform the operator that you are an ASSA Hogar policyholder, give him/her your policy number or the name, surname, and identity number of the policyholder and proceed with the explanation of the emergency. This service is extended to all persons living in your home.

Once an incident occurs (fire, theft, flood, etc.) inside the residence, what should we do?
Call the competent authorities (PNC, Fire Department, among others). You must report the incident to ASSA and to your trusted broker for advice. ASSA will send an independent inspector/adjuster.
